Schwartz resigns as Thoroughbred Owners of California president

Steve Schwartz resigned as president of the Thoroughbred Owners of California on Friday, effective immediately.

Schwartz said the time and travel involved with his position were beyond his expectations and spending time with his family was a priority.

“We respect Steve’s decision and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” said Marsha Naify, chair of the TOC board of directors.

Schwartz, a trial lawyer specializing in equine veterinary and medical issues was named TOC president on October 30.
