Art auction to benefit Race For Education

Posted: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 5:09 PM

A series of paintings by internationally renowned artist Andre Pater celebrating the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be sold to benefit The Race For Education.

The four original paintings will be sold live at auction during The Race For Education’s gala reception, presented by THOROUGHBRED TIMES, Young Rider, and Horse Illustrated, on September 30 at the Lexington Country Club.

There also will be a limited edition of 500 signed and numbered prints featuring jumping, dressage, reining, and driving. Each print will bear a silver stamp representing the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

A print can be obtained for a minimum $100 contribution to The Race For Education. Proceeds will benefit scholarships for equestrian athletes.

The Race For Education helps children of equine industry families and children who want to pursue a career in equine industries. Since 2002, The Race For Education has awarded more than $2.5-million in scholarships and educational grants.

Tickets to the September 30 dinner cost $250 for an individual, $400 for a couple, and $1,500 for a table of eight, and include a print and a gift bucket. A Rolex watch donated by Sheila Bayes Fine Jewelers also will be auctioned.
