Autograph session in Saratoga to benefit injured riders

Some of the top jockeys in the nation will gather on Saturday in Saratoga Springs, New York, for an autograph session to raise money for injured jockeys Rene Douglas and Michael Straight.

Edgar Prado, Alan Garcia, Mike Luzzi, Kent Desormeaux, Calvin Borel, Rajiv Maragh, and possibly other riders will be available to sign photos at Impression of Saratoga at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday. The autographs will require a $10 donation with all proceeds will be donated to a fund to support injured riders Straight and Douglas.

Saratoga Race Course’s Sam the Bugler also will attend.

Impressions also will conduct a raffle with tickets available at the front counter. There also will be a silent auction for a print of Funny Cide autographed by the Kentucky Derby (G1) winner’s connections.

Both riders suffered serious spine injuries in spills this year at Arlington Park.
