Owners of Breeders’ Cup hopefuls commit to New Vocations

Owners of seven horses set for this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships have committed a percentage of any purse money earned to New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program.
With locations in four states, New Vocations places retired Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds in new homes with new careers. On average, the charity places 300 horses a year.
Owners who have pledged a percentage of purse earnings include IEAH Stable with Court Vision, Diamondrella (GB), and Radiohead; Charles Winner, David Bienstock, and Paul Mandabach with Magical Fantasy, Chasin Dreams Racing’s Noble’s Promise, Sovereign Stable’s Negligee, and Brushwood Stable’s Mushka.
“Times are tough right now and the number of horses needing our services continues to rise,” said program director Anna Ford. “We are truly grateful to have these owners pledge their support during this year’s Breeders’ Cup. I think a lot of their success at the track has been due to the fact that they truly care about the welfare and safety of their horses both on and off the track.”
Started in 1992, New Vocations has facilities in Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, and Tennessee.
