The Inglewood City Council will vote tonight on a proposed $2-billion real estate development that would end horse racing at Hollywood Park, the Los Angeles Times reports in its Thursday edition.
Track owner Wilson Meany Sullivan is proposing a retail and residential complex which incorporates the casino currently located at the Inglewood, California, track near Los Angeles airport. If approved, horseman will receive six months’ notice and racing will end following the conclusion of the winter in December 2009 or summer meet in July ’10.
THOROUGHBRED TIMES correspondent Larry Stewart will provide coverage of the City Council’s vote on Friday.
