Singer Eddie Money lends art skills to Old Friends

Posted: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 10:52 AM

Pop singer Eddie Money has created a label for the Old Friends “Artist Signature” wine bottle series produced by Chrisman Mill Vineyard & Winery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

The label features a sketch of 2002 Vosburg Stakes winner Bonapaw, who joined the Thoroughbred retirement facility in Georgetown, Kentucky in March.

Chrisman Mill plans to print Money’s label on 1,000 bottles of Vidal Blanc, with 50% of the proceeds benefiting Old Friends. The bottles, available July 10 at all Liquor Barn outlets and Chrisman Mill’s two retail locations, cost $21.99.

Money, best known for 80s hits such as “Two Tickets to Paradise” and “I Think I’m in Love,” also has autographed 100 boxed “Artist Proof” bottles, available from Chrisman Mill via phone and website for $49.99. For more information, call (859) 881-5007, or visit www.chrismanmill.com.

To celebrate the launch, Chrisman Mill’s Hamburg Plaza retail outlet in Lexington will offer a special tasting party on July 10. Another tasting will take place on July 11 at the Liquor Barn’s Beaumont Center location in Lexington.

Money’s label is the fourth in the celebrity series, and those created by Jack Nicholson, Albert Brooks, and Angelica Huston all have sold out.
