Churchill Downs is accepting applications for a chief party officer for the 2009 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1).
The chief party officer will preside over the infield at Churchill for three days, and will also make a number of public appearances at the Louisville track during Kentucky Derby week.
To enter the chief party officer contest, fans must record a two-minute video explaining why they should be chosen. Once an official entry form at www.chiefpartyofficer.com is filled out, a link can be followed to upload video applications to the official chief party officer Facebook page, where entries can be shared and viewed by others.
Video applications will be accepted through February 28. Fans must be between the ages of 21 and 34 at the time of entry to participate.
Tim “Stymie” Snyder, the 2008 chief party officer, will be in Tampa, the site of Super Bowl XLIII on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, to personally recruit applicants. Fans who visit Snyder in a chief party officer mobile boardroom that will be located across from Raymond James Stadium at 3426 West Tampa Boulevard can enter this year’s contest by having a Churchill representative videotape their entry.
The mobile boardroom will be open from 3-to-11 p.m. EST on Thursday and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
