Former trainer Belvoir dies

Clarence Belvoir, a former Thoroughbred trainer who served as general manager for the Washington-based American Horse Transportation, died on February 8 at Auburn Medical Hospital in Auburn, Washington. He was 67.
Belvoir started his training career after graduating from high school in 1960. He spent 35 years in the horse transportation business, and most recently worked for American Horse Transportation.
A memorial service will be held on February 14 at 2 p.m. PST at the Washington Thoroughbred Breeders Association’s sales pavilion at 3220 Emerald Downs Drive in Auburn, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Belvoir’s name to The Jockey’s Guild, 103 Wind Haven Drive, suite 200, Nicholasville, Kentucky, 40356.
