Authorities in Geneva, Nebraska, are seeking information from Thoroughbred owners who sold horses to a man there accused of animal cruelty and neglect charges.
Norman Graves faces a felony charge in Fillmore County and two misdemeanor counts of animal neglect in Thayer County following the discovery of 38 malnourished horses, most of them Thoroughbreds.
Fillmore County Deputy Sheriff Bob Hester would like to speak with owners who sold horses to Graves within the last year.
“We are seeking information about each horse that has a tattoo,” Hester said in an e-mail to THOROUGHBRED TIMES. “This information will be used in the criminal prosecution of Mr. Graves.”
The sheriff’s office also is asking for help with feed. The phone number is (402)759-4441.
