Bill Murphy has resigned as president and general manager of Gulfstream Park, according to published reports on Saturday. The resignation was effective on Friday.
Murphy will assist with the management transition prior to the track’s opening day on January 3. After serving as vice president and general manager of fellow Magna track Thistledown since 1997, he started at Gulfstream as vice president in charge of racing in June 2006 and was promoted to president and general manager in January 2007.
