ABC and the ESPN family of networks will dedicate nine hours of live coverage to the 26th annual Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Friday and Saturday at Santa Anita Park.
Coverage starts on Friday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. EST on ESPN2. The network will carry live the Breeders’ Cup Marathon, Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1), Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1), and Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (G1).
Saturday’s coverage starts on ABC from 1 to 3:30 p.m. with the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G2), Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, and Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1). The broadcast then shifts to ESPN from 3:30 to 7 p.m. with the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1), TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1), Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1), Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1), and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1).
Also, ESPN360.com will simulcast ESPN and ESPN2’s coverage on Friday and Saturday.
All races will be presented in high definition. For the event, ABC and ESPN will have cameras on two cranes, a helicopter, a truck, inside the starting gate, and in the stewards’ room. There will also be a camera running along the rail and an extra slow-motion camera at the finish line.
