Horse industry rally to be held
at Keeneland

The Kentucky Equine Education Project will host a horse industry rally Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. EDT at the Keeneland Sales Pavilion in Lexington.

Those expected to speak at the rally include Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear and Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo.

The rally is being held in response to House Bill 2, which would have allowed video lottery terminals at state racetracks, failing to advance out of a State Senate committee. VLT advocates argue that the bill would boost purses and incentives for local tracks and horsemen in the face of competition from tracks in neighboring states which offer expanding gaming.
