Taylor Made to sponsor RTCA’s White Horse Award
Taylor Made Sales Agency and Taylor Made Stallions Inc. will sponsor the Race Track Chaplaincy of America’s White Horse Award.
The winner of the sixth-annual award will be announced on October 23 at the Sironas Room at Santa Anita Park. The award is given by the White Horse Fellowship to people within the horse racing industry who have demonstrated heroic acts toward people or horses.
The winner receives $5,000 and a White Horse statue. Three other nominees will be awarded $1,000 each.
“The philosophy behind the track chaplaincy has to do with people helping other people and one of the inhibitors to helping others is fear,” said Duncan Taylor, president of Taylor Made. “The White Horse Award is about honoring people who have overcome their fears to help people and horses and we want to commend people with that virtue.”
This year’s nominees include four Louisiana farm workers and three workers at Charles Town Races, all of whom saved racehorses when their farms caught on fire.
