NYRA wagering on mobile phones now available

Sona Mobile Holdings Corporation launched mWager on Thursday, a mobile wagering application that allows New York Racing Association Rewards members to wager on races via a mobile phone or personal digital assistant device.

The application allows NYRA Rewards members to view race program information, such as updated odds, scratches, and minutes to post for each race NYRA offers live or simulcasts. Other functions include race results, account balance, and wagering history.

“This new mobile wagering application will give our customers a new level of wagering convenience, privacy, and convenience by giving them the ability to wager on a platform that offers real-time racing and wagering information anywhere, anytime on their own mobile device," said Charles Hayward, NYRA president and chief executive officer.

NYRA will launch mWager on Blackberry and iPhone devices in the coming weeks.
