The Mid-Atlantic Cooperative reached an agreement on Thursday with the New York Racing Association allowing its racetracks to receive simulcast signals from Aqueduct, Belmont Park, and Saratoga Race Course.
The Mid-Atlantic Cooperative consists of the Meadowlands, Monmouth Park, Freehold Raceway, Atlantic City Race Course, Philadelphia Park, Penn National Race Course, Pocono Downs, Charles Town Races, Delaware Park, Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway, Ocean Downs, Rosecroft Raceway, Colonial Downs, Suffolk Downs, and the off-track betting entities controlled by Suffolk Downs.
The agreement is effective Friday and ends an impasse between NYRA and the Mid-Atlantic Cooperative that began with the start of the Belmont Park meeting on April 30.
“NYRA is very pleased to have this agreement in place with such a major simulcast partner,” said Hal Handel, executive vice president of NYRA. “We are glad to bring our races back to the Mid-Atlantic tracks, and I’m sure the fans will be happy to have NYRA races back, especially as we head into the heart of the New York-racing season.”
