Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith, owners of recently retired champion and 2007 Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Rags to Riches, will donate the royalties from the sale of the Rags to Riches Breyer model horse to the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Charities—Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF).

"We are extremely grateful to Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith, who agreed to the deal with Breyer chiefly due to its potential to raise funds for the PDJF," NTRA President Alex Waldrop said. "We are also very appreciative of Breyer's continued support of worthy, racing-related causes."

Rags to Riches became the first female in 102 years to win the Belmont Stakes, doing so after a prolonged stretch duel with eventual Horse of the Year Curlin. The A.P. Indy filly was later named champion three-year-old filly of 2007.

She was retired on March 24 after re-injuring her right front pastern. Rags to Riches won five of seven starts and earned $1,342,528.

To date, sales of the Rags to Riches Breyer horse have generated more than $10,000 for the PDJF since it was introduced in November 2007.
