Occidental Thoroughbreds buys Maple Heights Farm

by Joe Nevills

Occidental Thoroughbreds has purchased Maple Heights Farm in Bourbon County, Kentucky.

The 390-acre farm is adjacent to Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs Kentucky and is located near several other major Thoroughbred operations.

Maple Heights Farm includes a 72-stall broodmare facility and a complete stallion division. Occidental Thoroughbreds will consolidate their broodmare and yearling divisions at the Kentucky farm this summer and rename the farm Occidental Thoroughbreds Farm.

“It’s going to allow us to consolidate our operations under one facility and continue to grow,” said Occidental co-owner Andre Regard. “We currently have multiple divisions in multiple locations.”

Founded in 2002, the Paris, Kentucky-based Occidental Thoroughbreds is owned by Regard and his wife, Trish. Occidental Thoroughbreds is an active buyer and seller at Kentucky sales.

“Our operation has grown and Maple Heights has been a good property over the years,” Regard said. “It’s had a very storied history.”
