Fair Grounds names Boulet racing secretary
Louisiana native Jason Boulet has been named racing secretary at Fair Grounds.
Boulet, 39, has served as racing secretary at Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, Louisiana, since 2005. He first started working in the horse racing industry in 1990.
Boulet previously worked a variety of jobs at Fair Grounds from 2002-’05, including a brief stint as racing secretary prior to the track being purchased by Churchill Downs Inc. He also has served as assistant director of racing, stakes coordinator, and assistant racing secretary at the New Orleans track.
“We are excited to have Jason Boulet rejoin our staff at Fair Grounds,” Track President Randy Soth said. “Jason brings to us a unique blend of experience and a great relationship with horsemen both nationwide and in Louisiana.”
Boulet will begin his new duties at Fair Grounds in September. Evangeline concludes an 85-day meeting on September 1.
“Going back to Fair Grounds is like coming home,” Boulet said. “The four years I was at Evangeline was a great experience that has helped me ready for this challenge. I’m really excited about this opportunity. This is like a dream come true.”
