Shipping owner, consigning agent Cunningham dies

Eugene Cunningham, shipping business owner and husband of California Thoroughbred Breeders Association President Leigh Ann Howard, died Saturday. He was 88.

Cunningham, a second-generation pharmacist, owned and bred Thoroughbreds at his layup farm in Murrieta, California.

Cunningham founded Fox Hollow Inc., a national horse shipping company that would later become Hubbard Horse Transport. He also acted as a consigning agent for his and other shipping companies at horse sales across the United States.
