Stallion Ticker hosting benefit auction
Bloodstock auction website The Stallion Ticker is hosting an auction to benefit Old Friends racehorse retirement facility.
The auction honors seven-year-old gelding Lava Man, a multiple Grade 1 winner who will arrive at Old Friends in Georgetown, Kentucky, in March.
Up for bid are shares in breeding seasons to New York and Florida stallions as well as collectibles.
“This is just such a wonderful organization that’s just getting more horses all the time and more horses mean more cost,” said The Stallion Ticker’s Ryan Campbell. “And when I heard Lava Man was coming, well, I felt I just had to help.”
Old Friends is home to nearly 30 retired racehorses, including Sunshine Forever, Ogygian, Ruhlmann, Flying Pigeon, and Fortunate Prospect.
The on-going auction will run until December 12 at www.stallionticker.com.
