Owens selected '08 Ky. farm manager of the year


Mike Owens of Gary Biszantz’s Cobra Farm has been named the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers' Club’s 2008 farm manager of the year.

The award is given to a person that demonstrates excellence in farm management, service to the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers' Club, and service to the community. 

In addition to Cobra Farm, Owens previously worked at his own Cornerstone Stable, raising Old Trieste, Sinister Minister, and Ifyouprefersilver among others.

Owens is a past KTFMC  president and board member and was closely involved in the Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI), a hands-on educational program for young people interested in careers in the Thoroughbred industry.

Owens will be honored at the group’s annual Premier Event on October 10.
