Aulisi named director of National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame
Joseph Aulisi has been named director of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.
Aulisi has served as the acting director of the Saratoga Springs, New York, facility since October 2006.
Catherine Maguire will continue her duties as the assistant director.
Aulisi attended Middlebury College and, following military service, he earned a master’s degree from Wilkes University He has been the development officer at the Museum since 2000 and will maintain his role in development.
Aulisi and his wife, Jill, are residents of Saratoga Springs.
Prior to becoming the museum’s development officer, Aulisi was vice-president of a New York-based accessories company and a member of the museum’s board of trustees.
“With his many years of experience as a trustee and in a key staff position, Joe is the ideal person to be the on-site leader of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame,” Museum President Stella Thayer said. “He has worked closely with the trustees on fund-raising initiatives and is well-versed in all facets of the operation of the Museum.”
