HRRN official Preakness radio broadcast station

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN) will be the exclusive national radio network for the 2008 Preakness Stakes (G1) on May 17 at Pimlico Race Course.

The agreement was reached between HRRN and officials at Pimlico and the Maryland Jockey Club for the radio network to provide live coverage of the 133rd Preakness from 5:30-7 p.m. EDT. HRRN will also provide a three-hour live broadcast of the stakes races on the Preakness undercard from 2-5 p.m.

“The Preakness is one of the most historic and exciting events on the racing calendar” said Mike Penna, co-founder of HRRN who will co-host the broadcast with Pete Kules. “The possibility of having a Triple Crown candidate is usually still alive with the Derby winner, and when that horse comes to the top of the stretch, the atmosphere is electric. We are thrilled to be able to bring the excitement of this spectacular race to a national radio audience.”
