Javid, former Thoroughbred Farm Managers' Club administrator, dies

Linda Javid, a former administrator for the Thoroughbred Farm Manager’s Club and former employee of The Jockey Club, died on October 17 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was 45.

Born in New Orleans, Javid was a daughter of Grover C. and Jimmie S. Farris of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. A graduate of Mississippi State University, Javid was an avid antique dealer and a member of Southland Christian Church.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Vahid “V.J.” Javid, a son, Samuel Javid and a daughter, Catherine Javid, all of Lexington; a brother, Gary Farris, of Bellechase, Louisiana; and a sister, Sherie Farris of Garland, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. EDT Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery.
