Grey Goose to sponsor Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies

Posted: Monday, January 22, 2007 4:09 PM

Grey Goose Vodka will sponsor the $2-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) in 2007, and the company also has secured exclusive rights as the official spirit of the Breeders’ Cup Ltd. and National Thoroughbred Racing Association under the terms of a multiyear agreement announced on Monday.

The first edition of the Grey Goose Vodka Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) will be held on October 27 at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey. The 1 1/16-mile race for two-year-old fillies will be run on the main track and televised live on ESPN along with the rest of the day’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

A Breeders’ Cup partner since 2005, Grey Goose has also been given exclusive title to the “Grey Goose Vodka Clubhouse” at Monmouth Park during the Breeders’ Cup, which includes signage in high visibility areas, and the Grey Goose Vodka logo printed on all Breeders’ Cup seat tickets.

In addition, Grey Goose will continue to be title sponsor of the Grey Goose Vodka Breeders’ Cup VIP Party on October 25 and an official sponsor of the Breeders’ Cup Charity Gala on October 26.

“As a premier international brand, Grey Goose Vodka is a perfect marketing partner for the Breeders’ Cup and we are excited that it is expanding its commitment to work with us,” said Greg Avioli, president of Breeders’ Cup Ltd. “The Breeders’ Cup World Championships and the new Breeders’ Cup Challenge in the weeks leading up to it allow us to create unprecedented marketing opportunities where partners can access an affluent audience and associate with the very best in Thoroughbred racing.”

In addition to its Breeders’ Cup association, Grey Goose is an official sponsor of tonight’s 36th annual Eclipse Awards in Beverly Hills, and is also an official sponsor of the Barnstable Brown Charity Benefit on the eve of the Kentucky Derby (G1) in Louisville and the Belmont Stakes (G1) Charity Ball in New York.

“Grey Goose Vodka is proud to support Thoroughbred racing, the sport of kings,” said Monsell Darville, Grey Goose’s vice president and group director. “As ‘The World’s Best Tasting Vodka,’ Grey Goose is a natural fit to toast the best in Thoroughbred racing. We look forward to encouraging the NTRA through its long-term growth and development.”
