Trainer Hall dies at age 78
Trainer Oscar Hall died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cincinnati on March 3. He was 78.
Training at Turfway Park this year, he raced horses at the Northeast tracks, including Suffolk Downs, Rockingham Park, and Narragansett Park, and in the Midwest on the Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio circuits, during his career.
Since 1976, Hall won 312 races from 3,114 starters.
Spending most of his career in New England, Hall bought his first racehorse in the early 1950s with military pay from his tour of duty in the Korean War.
Services will be held at Turfway Park in the Terrace Room on Friday at 1 p.m. EST.
