Film crew shoots movie scene at Retama Park
A scene from the upcoming movie "Veritas: Prince of Truth" was shot at Retama Park on Tuesday with jockey Casey Lambert serving as one of the more than 50 people utilized.
The Veritas crew had spent the previous five weeks in Monterrey, Mexico, before arriving at Retama. Their final stop will be Forth Worth, where shooting will wrap and editing will begin on the film set for an April 2005 release.
"Veritas: Prince of Truth" will be a part live action, part animation children's film in which Sean Patrick Flanery plays comic book hero Veritas. Bret Loehr stars as Kern Williams, Vertias's biggest fan, and Veritas needs Williams's help to fend off the evil Nemesii, played by Kate Walsh, who appeared in "Under the Tuscan Sun." The film also features Amy Jo Johnson, who played the pink power ranger from 1993-'96 on the children's cult classic television show and in the 1995 movie "Mighty Morph'n Power Rangers."
In the scene shot at Retama, Nemesii uses her mind to make a horse fall on top of a jockey and Veritas uses his healing powers to mend both human and animal. The scene took about ten hours to shoot what will amount to six to eight minutes of the movie, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
