Veterinarian Byars resigns after 22 years at Hagyard-Davidson-McGee

Veterinarian T. Douglas Byars has resigned as senior medicine clinician at Hagyard-Davidson-McGee after 22 years at the Lexington clinic.

Byars founded the equine medicine specialty department at Hagyard-Davidson-McGee and was a prominent researcher and scientist in the mare reproductive loss syndrome crisis that struck Central Kentucky in 2001.

Upon departing the clinic in mid-January, Byars plans to pursue a practice in veterinary consultation while remaining in the Lexington area.
