-- Nineteen-year-old trainer Nicole Youngsaddled her first career winner Thursday night when she sent Riker to victory in the third race at Hoosier Park. Young is the granddaughter of Iowa-based trainers Suzanne Evans and Dick Clark. Clark owns Riker, a seven-year-old Pennsylvania-bred son of Marine Brass who won the maiden claiming event by four lengths, completing the six-furlong trip under jockey Glenn Corbett in 1:11.80 on a fast track.—Todd Lieber

--Keeneland Race Course will be the site of filming for the movie "Seabiscuit" in November. At least 30 horses will be used to re-create the famed match race between Seabiscuit and War Admiral, which originally took place at Pimlico Race Course in the second renewal of the Pimlico Special. Chris McCarron has the role of Charles Kurtsinger, who rode War Admiral, while Gary Stevens, has the role of George "The Iceman" Woolf, who rode Seabiscuit.
