Religious broadcaster Robertson still seeking winner's circle with Mr. Pat
Mr. Pat, a three-year-old son of Harlan owned by "700 Club" host Pat Robertson, remains in training at Monmouth Park under the name of Robertson's Tega Farm.
Amid a storm of controversy from some of his followers regarding his involvement in a sport around gambling, Robertson said in May that he intends to sell his stable of horses by the end of the November sale at Keeneland.
Mr. Pat, a $520,000 purchase by Tega Farm at the 2001 Keeneland April two-year-olds in training sale, finished second at Monmouth Park on June 1 in his career debut among maidens. He followed with a sixth-place finish in a maiden special weight contest there on June 29 in his most recent start.
He breezed four furlongs in :49.40 for trainer John Kimmel on Friday at the Oceanport, New Jersey, track.
