The 28th annual Sovereign Awards ceremony will be held December 7 at the Imperial Room of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Ballots for the awards will be sent out on November 19 and must be submitted to the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers no later than 5 p.m. EST on November 22. The three finalists in the 15 divisional categories will be announced November 28.

To be eligible for a Sovereign Award, a horse must have made a minimum of three starts in Canada in 2002 prior to November 17.

Submissions for the media categories must be received by the Jockey Club of Canada no later than 5 p.m. on October 31. Submissions must be of Canadian Thoroughbred racing or breeding content and must have been published or aired between November 1, 2001, and October 31, 2002.
