Wake At Noon, Added Edge among Sovereign Awards finalists

Multiple graded stakes winner Wake At Noon and undefeated two-year-old Added Edge are among the finalists for the 28th annual Sovereign Awards, Canadian racing's year-end honors for outstanding achievements, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto on December 7.Wake At Noon, an Ontario-bred five-year-old son of Cure the Blues, won six races this season, including four Canadian stakes before finishing 12th in the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) at Arlington Park on October 26. He is a finalist in the champion older horse or gelding and champion sprinter categories.

Campaigned by his breeders, Bruno Schickedanz, and trained by Abraham Katryan, Wake At Noon has won 16 of 35 career starts in four seasons and has earned $1,245,696. Schickedanz is a finalist in the outstanding owner category, along with Stronach Stable and Sam-Son Farm.

Added Edge, a Kentucky-bred son of Smart Strike, began his career with three straight wins at Woodbine by a combined 16 3 /4-lengths before venturing to Aqueduct on November 2 for a 2¼-length win in the Nashua Stakes (G3) for trainer Mark Casse.

Added Edge has earned $250,328 for owners Team Valor and Robert Wilson.

Casse, Roger Attfield, and Mark Frostad are the finalists for outstanding trainer.
