Interactive racing kiosks to debut at Keeneland
Posted: Tuesday, April 03, 2001
Keeneland Race Course, in partnership with Post Time Technologies, will launch an interactive digital race replay system on Friday, the opening day of the spring race meeting, that will allow fans to view replays from Keeneland and other tracks around the nation.
The kiosks—which will remain in place for year-round use by simulcast patrons after Keeneland's live season ends on April 27—are able to store information from six racing circuits for the past 45 days and will be updated daily. In addition to the hi-resolution replays, the database includes entries, results, mutuel information, and photo finishes.
"Wagering on racing is all about having the right information," said G. D. Hieronymous, Keeneland director of broadcast services. "The more information we can provide our customers, the better."
The new service is called RaceVision. Post Time, a Vancouver-based company, has been working with Keeneland in developing and improving other technologies, including TrackVision, a Web-streaming video service.
