Webbers to sponsor Newbury race

Noted composer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and his wife, through their Watership Down Stud, will sponsor the John Porter Stakes (Eng-G3) at Newbury racecourse on April 15.

Watership Down replaces Lane's End near Versailles, Kentucky, as the race's sponsor. The John Porter Stakes is a 1 ½-mile race for older horses.

Lane's End will continue to support the Newbury meeting by sponsoring the Greenham Stakes (Eng-G3) for three-year-olds males at seven furlongs.
