Tony D'Amico breaks Turfway win record
Jockey Tony D'Amico broke an 11-year-old record for most riding victories during Turfway Park's winter-spring meeting during closing night at the Florence, Kentucky, track on Thursday.
D'Amico guided Right On Course to victory in the eighth race, a six-furlong claiming event, for his 85th victory of the meeting, breaking by one the record set by Jamie Bruin in 1989.
Greta Kuntzweiler finished a distant second in the rider standings with 47 victories.
