Rollin With Nolan impressive at Keeneland

Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey's Rollin With Nolan, third last time out in the Turfway Spiral Stakes (G2), turned in a sharp five furlong breeze at Keeneland racecourse on Thursday.

The three-year-old son of Summer Squall went the distance over the fast track in :59 2/5 handily under jockey Eibar Coa for trainer Nick Zito. Rollin With Nolan is most likely to start next in Keeneland's Coolmore Lexington Stakes (G2) on April 22.

"He worked really, really well," Zito said. "We're going in the right direction with him. I, personally, would like to run him in the Lexington Stakes. That's the way I would want to look at it, anyway. You never say never, but I would rather skip the Blue Grass (Stakes [G1]) and go in the Lexington. That would give us a little more time in-between his races. Last year, a son of Summer Squall (Charismatic) won the Lexington and came back to do OK in the Triple Crown. Maybe history will repeat itself."

The Blue Grass will be run on April 15 at Keeneland.

The Spiral was Rollin With Nolan's first attempt at stakes company after wins in maiden and allowance events at Gulfstream Park. He is 2-0-2 in four career starts for $102,240 in earnings.

In other three-year-old news, Florida Derby (G1) winner Hal's Hope and trainer Harold Rose arrived Thursday in Lexington to begin preparations for the Blue Grass. The Jolie's Halo colt was expected to train over the Keeneland strip on Friday morning.
