General Challenge sizzles at Santa Anita

Santa Anita Handicap (G1) winner General Challenge, preparing for his next start in the San Bernardino Handicap (G2) on Sunday at Santa Anita Park, drilled five furlongs in :59 2/5 on Tuesday at Santa Anita Park.

The General Meeting gelding has won three of his four starts since finishing tenth in last year's Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), and is 9-for-15 lifetime.

Other worktab notables on Tuesday include Allen's Oop and Dixie Union. Allen's Oop, who won the New Orleans Handicap (G3) on March 5 at the Fair Grounds, went four furlongs handily in :46 3/5 at Oaklawn Park, the fastest of 14 workouts for the day at Oaklawn by 1 3/5 seconds.

Dixie Union, winner of three graded stakes last year, continued on the comeback trail from knee surgery, working five furlongs in 1:02 1/5 at Santa Anita Park. He has not raced since finishing fifth in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1).
