Thesaurus headed to Hong Kong

Gus Goldsmith's Thesaurus, unplaced in the $2-million Dubai Sheema Classic (UAE-G3) on the Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1) undercard on March 25, is headed for another overseas challenge when he runs next in the April 16 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (HK-G1) at Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong.

The six-year-old son of With Approval is winless in four starts this season for trainer Charles "Scooter" Dickey, including a 13th-place effort in the Sheema Classic.

Thesaurus has finished second in three of his other starts, including runner-up efforts to Royal Anthem in the Gulfstream Park Breeders' Cup Handicap (G1) and to Buck's Boy in the Pan American Handicap (G2).

Thesaurus will be the lone American entrant in the Queen Elizabeth. Grade 1 winner Honor Glide was pegged to start in the event but his connections passed when he finished third in the Bougainvillea Handicap (G3) on March 25.
