The Mediterranean country of Malta is poised to become an offshore wagering location with a goal of attracting bettors from Great Britain.

Officials in Malta are in the process of issuing betting licenses and one large undetermined off-shore company has been targeted to set up shop in the country located near Sicily, Italy, Racing Post reports. Two British-based firms are believed to be interested in relocating to Malta.
