Drysdale duo works at Hollywood Park

Trainer Neil Drysdale sent out his team of Triple Crown prospects—War Chant and Fusaichi Pegasus—for six-furlong workouts on Monday at Hollywood Park as they aimed toward their next scheduled starts.

War Chant, who is undefeated in three career starts, went the distance in 1:14 under exercise rider Marcelino Olguin. The son of Danzig out of champion Hollywood Wildcat, by Kris S., is slated to run in Saturday's $1-million Santa Anita Derby (G1).

"He's coming to the race very well," Drysdale said. "He always trains very well. The (Santa Anita) Derby is coming up to be a strong race. I have a lot of respect for The Deputy (Ire), because he gave Fusaichi Pegasus some trouble (in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes on March 19) and he was giving weight to us."

Fusaichi Pegasus worked six furlongs in 1:14 3/5 with Olguin up. The son of Mr. Prospector, who is being pointed toward the Wood Memorial Stakes (G2) on April 15 at Aqueduct, galloped out seven furlongs in 1:28.

Drysdale said Fusaichi Pegasus will ship to New York on Wednesday and have one work there after he arrives.

In other workouts, the Bobby Frankel-trained Aptitude, second in the Gotham Stakes (G3) behind undefeated Red Bullet, worked six furlongs at Hollywood in 1:12 2/5.
