Arrowfield plans to add stallions

Leading Australian commercial operation Arrowfield Stud, which is home to former North American stallions End Sweep and Brocco, plans to add to its stallion roster in the near future.

John Messara, Arrowfield chairman, said construction has begun on a new stallion barn at the facility near Hunter Valley and the farm eventually will have the capacity to stand 16 stallions. Arrowfield currently stands ten stallions, including shuttle stallions Unbridled's Song and Timber Country.

"Our long-term plan is to stand 16 world class stallions at Arrowfield," Messara said. "We are taking Arrowfield to the next level, especially with 70% of our stallions now in the proven category. Our core business is stallions, and this is where we have been successful over the past 15 years."
