Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor hopes Long Lashes can rebound from her unplaced finish last time out and land her first Group 1 win in Saturday’s Meon Valley Stud Fillies’ Mile Stakes (Eng-G1), which drew eight other juvenile fillies, at Ascot.
Long Lashes posted clear victories in her first two career starts before finishing fourth in the Moyglare Stud Stakes (Ire-G1) on August 30 at the Curragh.
"Long Lashes is doing well now and so far I am very happy with her,” Suroor told England’s Press Association. “The ground at the Curragh last time was just too heavy for her, so hopefully she will get better ground on Saturday. She's ready for weekend and we look forward to the race."
The Fillies’ Mile is part of the “Win and You’re In” series with the winner gettting an automatic starting spot in the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on November 6 at Santa Anita.
