Tattersalls Ltd. has completed the extensive renovation and redevelopment of its wall box stabling area and the new facilities will be available for the first time at the start of the Tattersalls October yearling sale.
Part 1 of the October yearling sale begins October 6 and runs through October 8.
The number of boxes in the wall box stabling area was increased from 94 to 98. Most importantly, the wall boxes were redesigned to create level showing areas featuring both grass and gravel with improved drainage throughout.
“The new wall boxes are a spectacular improvement on their predecessors and have been praised unanimously by all who have seen them since their completion. The whole area has been enhanced in the redevelopment but the most important improvement is the creation of level showing areas,” Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said.
“The old showing areas followed the difficult natural gradients and were far from ideal and, although the project has required considerable investment, it demonstrates our whole-hearted and continued commitment to providing the best possible working environment for all of our clients.”
Access to the wall boxes from the lower sale paddock also was added, and a new dining facility was constructed with a seating capacity of 90 and complete wireless internet access.
“We have two smart colts coming to Book 1 and a further nine quality yearlings in Book 2 and they will all be stabled in the new wall boxes,” champion jockey and classic-winning breeder Willie Carson said. “It has all we could possibly want with magnificent new boxes and showing areas, the canteen, and its facilities and also great access to the sales ring. Full marks to Tattersalls for constantly upgrading the facilities at Park Paddocks.”
