Sea The Stars among
Cartier Horse of the Year finalists

Chris Tsui’s superstar three-year-old Sea The Stars is one of five finalists for the Cartier Award as European Horse of the Year.
The Cape Cross (Ire) colt appears to be a lock for Horse of the Year honors after capping an unbeaten campaign with a dominant two-length victory in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1) for trainer John Oxx on October 4 at Longchamp.
Sea The Stars' six Group 1 wins in as many starts this year also included the Stanjames.com Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-G1), Investec Epsom Derby (Eng-G1), Coral Eclipse Stakes (Eng-G1), Juddmonte International Stakes (Eng-G1), and Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes (Ire-G1).
Other Horse of the Year finalists are Boylesports.com Irish Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-G1) and St. James’s Palace Stakes (Eng-G1) winner Mastercraftsman (Ire), Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) winner Conduit (Ire), TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Goldikova (Ire), and Stanjames.com One Thousand Guineas (Eng-G1) and Coronation Stakes (Eng-G1) winner Ghanaati.
The Cartier Racing Awards recognize excellence in racing. In their 19th year, the eight awards are determined by points earned in pattern races, combined with the opinions of a panel of racing journalists as well as votes from readers of Racing Post and the Daily Telegraph.
