Marathon winner Man of Iron to Cumani

Breeders’ Cup Marathon winner Man of Iron will move to the barn of trainer Luca Cumani following the colt’s sale to a new partnership.

The three-year-old Giant’s Causeway colt was sold to Samanda Racing prior to Friday’s win in the Marathon, Racing Post reported. Bloodstock agent Alastair Donald brokered the deal.

Donald told Racing Post that Man of Iron will be pointed to the Dubai International Racing Carnival starting on January 28.

“Man of Iron will go to the Carnival,” Donald said. “We will see how he performs there and he could then be campaigned internationally. It’s a new partnership, which has four horses to go to the Carnival with.”

Racing Post also reported that 2008 Breeders’ Cup Marathon winner Muhannak (Ire) will stay in California and join trainer Ben Cecil’s stable.

Also, Group 2 winner Radiohead (GB) will move to trainer Richard Dutrow Jr.’s stable. Radiohead was purchased by a group that includes IEAH Stables prior to the Johannesburg colt’s seventh-place finish in the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).
