A British Horseracing Authority disciplinary panel formally has disqualified Delegator from his victory in the Totesport.com Celebration Mile Stakes (Eng-G2) on August 29 at Goodwood for a positive test of methylprednisolone, a prohibited substance.
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said the violation derived from injections of depo-medrone in the proximal suspensory ligament region in each leg on July 13, which was 47 days before the Celebration Mile. Bin Suroor’s veterinarian recommended a 42-day withdrawal period for the Dansili (GB) colt. The trainer received a $1,250 fine.
The disqualification promotes Zacinto, another Dansili (GB) colt, to the victory.
