Saudi owner buys Chilean champ Mensajera de La Luz

Mensajera de La Luz, Chile’s champion two-year-old filly on dirt for the 2008-‘09 season, and Argentine Group 1-placed winner El Amarillista, have been purchased by Emmanuel de Seroux, of California-based Narvick International Inc., on behalf of Saudi Arabian owner Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud al Kabeer.

Both three-year-olds recently arrived in Saudi Arabia, where they will be trained at Nofa Training Center by Jerry Barton. The pair will be aimed at major races for three-year-olds at the 2009-‘10 Dubai International Racing Carnival.

Mensajera de La Luz captured all four her starts, including three stakes victories, in Chile as a two-year-old, topped by her 1½-length triumph in the Tanteo de Potrancas (Chi-G1) at Hipodromo Chile on June 20.

The chestnut Election Day (Ire) filly is out of the Group 2-winning Gallantsky mare Cuenta Conmigo, a full sister to 2002 Native Diver Handicap (G3) winner Piensa Sonando (Chi) and Chilean multiple Group 3 winner Esta Sonando.

El Amarillista, by Mutakddim, placed in two of his three starts at two in Argentina, including a four-length maiden win in his second start and a second in the Gran Premio Montevideo (Arg-G1) on dirt at Hipodromo Palermo on May 1.
