Group 1 winner Pointing North sold, to race in United States

Sheik Rashid bin Mohammed al Maktoum’s Zabeel Racing International has purchased undefeated South African Group 1 winner Pointing North for an undisclosed amount.

Pointing North, a Southern Hemisphere three-year-old Joshua Dancer gelding, won the Bloodstock South Africa Cap Guineas (SAf-G1) on January 5 at Kenilworth in his most recent start.

Previously owned by a partnership that included breeder Greg Blank, Pointing North won his career debut in the Racing Association Secretariat Stakes on December 15 at Turffontein Racecourse.

Out of the unraced Model Man mare Compass Point, Pointing North will begin quarantine on March 15 and eventually will be shipped to New York, where he will be trained by Todd Pletcher.

The deal was brokered by Anfield Sports’s Marlon Aronstam.
