Misty Lady dominates Felix De Alzaga Unzue

Three-year-old filly Misty Lady rocketed to the front in the final furlong to post an impressive win in the Gran Premio Internacional Felix de Alzaga Unzue (Arg-G1) against South America’s fastest sprinters on Saturday at San Isidro.

Ridden by Jose Ricardo Mendez, the Lucky Roberto filly entered off a two-length victory in the Clasico Venezuela (Arg-G2) on November 4. Misty Lady returned to score by 1 ½ lengths over speedy Brazilian-bred Electro Nuclear, who nipped Group 3 winner Southern Lawyer by a nose.

Peruvian stakes winner Enojo was fourth, while favored Lady Sprinter, a previously unbeaten Kentucky-bred three-year-old Orientate filly, finished eighth in the 19-horse field.

Campaigned by Haras San Andres and trained by Jorge Mayansky Neer, Misty Lady covered 1,000 meters (4.97 furlongs) on the straight San Isidro turf course in a scorching :53.27 for her first win on the turf and fourth career victory in five starts.

Bred in Argentina by Andres Cordero, Misty Lady is out of the winning Roy mare Miss Milagros.
