Shadwell Stable purchases Argentine Group 1 winner Mach Glory

by Michael Burns

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum's Shadwell Stable has purchased Estrellas Juvenile (Arg-G1) winner Mach Glory from owner Stud S de B. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The Honour and Glory colt closed out his two-year-old season with an impressive two-length victory in the Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile on the turf at San Isidro on June 30.

The Argentine-bred three-year-old is out of the Cozzene mare Mucci Baby. Mach Glory will be shipped to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin’s barn in New York and will spend the winter at Palm Meadows Training Center in Boynton Beach, Florida.

A winner on both dirt and turf in Argentina, Mach Glory has won two of six lifetime starts. He finished second in the Gran Premio Gran Criterium (Arg-G1) on the turf at San Isidro on June 3.

Previously trained by Carlos Daniel Etchechoury, Mach Glory was bred in Argentina by Samuel Liberman’s Haras La Pomme.

Dr. Thomas Tribolet of Buenos Aires assisted in the deal for Mach Glory.
